Senior Public Relations Account Executive (Contract-to-Hire)

About the role: 

We’re looking for a smart, thoughtful, media-savvy PR pro with 5+ years of experience to join us as the day-to-day lead on 2-4 client accounts (a mix of consumer + B2B). This is a contract-to-hire role with long-term potential for someone who’s excited to grow with us and help shape the next chapter of the agency.

You’ll own execution across accounts. manage media outreach, lead client communication, and collaborate directly with our founder on strategy. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in high-quality work, moves with urgency and care, and brings energy and creativity to the table.

You must be:

  • Based in the Greater Philadelphia area

  • Available ~15–20 hours/week during standard business hours (Mon–Thurs 9a–5p, Fri 9a–12p) 

  • Excited about growing into a long-term, full-time role

  • Comfortable working remotely and attending weekly in-person meetings

Compensation: $3K-$3.5K per month based on experience

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the day-to-day lead across 2-4 client accounts (a mix of consumer and B2B in tech, real estate, food + beverage, and nonprofit), owning execution and client communications while collaborating closely with our founder on strategy and priorities.

  • Translate client goals into clear PR strategies, including timelines, angles, media targets, and creative opportunities

  • Own pitch strategy and lead media outreach, writing thoughtful, tailored pitches and securing high-quality placements across local, regional, and national outlets

  • Draft, edit, and maintain press materials including bios, bylines/op-eds, speaking submissions, and award entries

  • Prepare and lead weekly client calls; create agendas, meeting notes, and manage action items to keep things moving.

  • Build and maintain media lists using MuckRack, Cision, or similar tools; ensure lists are targeted and up-to-date

  • ​​Monitor and track press coverage in real time; maintain up-to-date press trackers and compile monthly or quarterly reports for clients

  • Prepare clients for media opportunities with briefing docs and light media coaching

  • Stay on top of media, industry and cultural trends; monitor the news, track competitors, and proactively surface timely opportunities to keep clients relevant and visible.

  • Support thought leadership efforts by ghostwriting LinkedIn posts, op-eds, and short-form founder content

  • Support ideation and execution for campaigns, strategic events, panels, partnerships and openings

  • Write light social content (e.g., captions, newsletter blurbs) to support PR programming

  • Build trusted client relationships

  • Assist our founder with developing proposals and presentations for new business opportunities as needed.

The ideal candidate for this role: 

  • Has 5+ years of PR experience (agency preferred)

  • Have experience in both consumer and B2B PR is strongly preferred. You should be comfortable shifting between brand storytelling that speaks to everyday consumers and strategic communications tailored to business decision-makers.

  • Has a proven track record of securing media placements (and can share examples from the past 3–6 months)

  • Is an excellent writer who can adapt tone and voice across clients and formats with ease

  • Feels confident leading client calls, managing day-to-day communication and navigating smaller issues independently

  • Is proactive, creative and always thinking two steps ahead

  • Cares just as much about the details as the bigger picture

  • Is highly organized with strong time management skills

  • Has a passion for storytelling, trendspotting and bringing fresh ideas to the table

  • Brings strong relationships with media and a natural ability to build new ones

  • Loves working on a variety of accounts and wears multiple hats with ease

  • Knows tools like Google Drive, Muck Rack, Asana, and CoverageBook like the back of their hand

  • Has experience writing social media copy and coordinating influencer campaigns

  • Is available for occasional evening/weekend event support

  • Is energized by the idea of helping shape a growing agency
